Be Kind


Remember, you cannot pour from an empty cup, so take care of yourself, first.

Regardless of how much you try, you will eventually burn out from giving more than what you can. There is only to an extent that one can give and eventually, you will feel the strange void within you. And one day, you’ll wish that someone takes care of you like you do, with everyone else. Whispers the right words to mend your broken heart ; to fill spaces between your fragile fingers. To make you feel worth a million and happy from the bottom of your heart.   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

You know what is bliss? Knowing that that “someone” is YOU. It is natural that as a giver all you want to do is give and give but to never take, so why don’t you satisfy your conscience by giving all that you got — to yourself? It’s okay to take some time off your busy schedule, to pay more attention to your needs. To detox from all the negativity and to connect with your spirituality.   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It’s not selfish to stay solitude from the hustle and bustle of the world if that gives you the utmost peace. You can do so much for yourself but all that you care is to provide the most for others ; isn’t the fact that you love yourself the least, quite heart breaking? It’s okay to be nice, but what is the meaning of it, if you fail to be kind to yourself?   ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I want you think back all the time, you’ve done silly mistakes and how did you react? You call yourself stupid, silly and all sorts of name, things that you’ll never say to another person but you’ve never hesitate to be cruel to yourself. Why? This is impartiality. This is inhumane. This act of “selflessness” will only bring destruction rather than transforming you into your best self. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Here’s a little exercise to sway you away from all the stress you’ve had today. I want you to close your eyes and slightly tilt your head down, and breath in through your nose for 5 counts and breath out from your stomach, for 4 counts. Repeat this – 3 times. Slowly place your hand on your forehead or heart and whisper the following words :

1. This is just a moment and it will pass.

2. I am stronger than what I think I am

3. I release myself from anger

4. In all situations, I will be kind to myself

5. I am doing good and I will do better

6. I am not perfect but imperfectly me.

Say all the positive words you’ll not hesitate to utter to someone, just to make them feel better — be the same person to your inner soul, treat yourself with kindness as much you would with anyone else. Remember, you cannot pour from an empty cup, so take care of yourself, first.
